Where does the time go?

It seems like this year has flown by! Not only are we past the summer and all of its fun, we’re almost ready for SEMA again…and bigger than that for me personally, the return of Top Gear on History, September 30th at 9pm.

I’ve been working away this year with my friends on lots of different projects, and I’m so happy to say, the 1953 Plymouth Suburban that I built with Summit Racing is officially DONE! To be honest, this might be the first car that I’ve actually completed every single thing I’ve wanted to do to it…and everything works! There are lots and lots of people to thank for this masterpiece: Nan, Alan, and everyone at Summit Racing Equipment, Kirsten at Magnaflow, Maria at Odyssey Battery, Bryan at Sherwin Williams, Brian, Chris, Brian and everyone at Brian’s Paint and Body (lots of Brian’s) who worked so hard on this thing, and of course, Randy, Steve, and Gary at the Kenwood Rod Shop in Sharpsburg,GA….and all the wonderful people that helped make this dream a reality.  You can see some pics below…

Speaking of turning dreams into reality, I had the chance to show off my new build to the man who gave it to me; THE KING himself!  Do yourself a favor, and watch his incredible reaction right HERE!

The boys at Kenwood are some of the most talented, kindest, and most fun guys I’ve ever met. The time we got to spend with them on the Power Tour is something I’ll never forget, and I hope we get to do that again this year! Or, if I can’t make it because of work, maybe we start a tradition of our own little trip with people that love cars. If you want to read about our trip and some of the fun we had, check it out here on the On All Cylinders blog.

If you’re a car nut and going to SEMA, we’re trying to finalize a few details as we speak, but we’ll have that schedule posted as soon as we can and hopefully you can come see me at lots of the booth’s I’ll be meeting people. Big thanks to Guy Haynie at Haynie Designs for some of the super cool stuff I’ll have to sign.

If you’re around Georgia, come say hello to me at the Cruisin to the Oldies car show in Senoia, GA on September 27th. I will have my ’53 Plymouth and ’49 Chevy Step Van in front of or very close to my parent’s restaurant, Katie Lou’s Café, which is located on Main Street right next to the buggy shop. You definitely won’t miss us there! It’s a super cute town and lots of cool cars show up that day. Say hello if you’ll be there.

Don’t forget, Top Gear is back on History for the LAST 4 shows of this season. We’ve had an amazing time doing this show over the years, and I hope these aren’t our last shows we do…SO….please tell lots of people to watch! TV is a crazy world and at the end of the day, it doesn’t matter how good or bad a show is, it just matters if people watch. So if Top Gear on History matters to you, just like it does to me, please tell all your friends to watch so we can keep making more of these amazing shows!
